Choosing your Prom Hair Style

An important part of any girl's prom is the prom hairstyle she chooses. The most popular prom hairstyles change every year. Feminine, wavy styles are popular, but edgy styles will also fit the bill.

Today's most popular prom hairstyles are beautiful curls or waves. Multiple layers around the face, fresh curls, and shoulder length hair combined into one will make any prom date beam with pride to be your date! Soft twists that combine those curls with styles that are half up and half down are also in. Bangs, especially large or sultry bangs swept to one side, are particularly popular this year.

Some straight hair styles have also been popular. As always, straight hair still has its place among the popular prom hairstyles. Straight hairstyles that are textured or have a sleek mirror-shine are especially popular.

More daring styles include the classic look of the late 1970's- shoulder length bobs. The mullet is also in, combining cropped sections with longer tresses. Many young women have become found of Alyssa's Milano's short cut.

Always have a fallback style in case of disaster or your hair's plain refusal to look the way you want it to for the prom. The popular French braid is an example of a style that can be classy and still give you the control you want.

Choosing the right accessory can make the difference between attractive and stunning. Afterall, you only have your prom once! Jeweled hair sticks or vintage hair combs have proven to be popular. There are three important elements to make your outfit for your big day: your hairstyle, dress, and jewelry. As long as all three are consistent, the sky is the limit!
