When Selecting Skin Care Products
There are many different types of skin care products available for a range of skin types and purposes. The most common skin types are Normal, Oily, Dry and a Combination. Normal skin has no signs of oily or dry areas and looks clear and healthy. Oily skin is shiny with no dry areas. Dry skin has some flaking with no oily areas. Combination skin has oily and dry areas.
The most important principle to follow when choosing a skin care product is to pick something that won't aggravate your skin type. Skin Care Products are available to treat specific conditions or a combination of conditions. The most common skin care products are cleansers and moisturizers. There are also products that contain astringents that help tighten skin.
Some products also contain Alpha-Hydroxy Acids and help skin slough old cells on the surface, Antioxidants help new skin growth, and UV blockers to protect the skin from the Sun's damaging rays along with other types of skin care products. Many of these can be combined. You'll have most often seen UV blockers in moisturizers. It is one less step in your morning routine and it's a great way to have some form a sunscreen on during the day.
Retinols are also popular for reduction of wrinkles by causing your skin to swell slightly and they also help to fade age spots, not to be confused with freckles. There are also skin care products designed specifically for the eyes. It's a sensitive area with thinner skin. Products for the skin around the eyes treat puffiness, such as the bags under the eyes and wrinkles or crow's feet and those dark circles that can appear from fatigue.
Simple home remedies can be a great way to avoid spending money and can be used to truly improve your skin. For example, you can use cucumber slices for puffy eyes, White Hazel to help tighten skin and pores, drinking lots of water and maybe taking a dietary supplement rich in vitamins A, C, and E. Vitamin supplements are a great way to stay healthy both above and below the skin!
