Avoiding Wrinkles and Proper Skin Care

In order to avoid getting wrinkles, the older we get, the more important it becomes to take proper care of our skin. Over time, the natural elasticity in our skin begins to fade and wrinkles and fine lines start to appear. Also, the top layer of skin starts to thin. There are several other factors that can make the skin wrinkle or increase the look of wear.

The most critical external factor that causes skin damage is the sun. Excessive exposure to sunlight- especially without skin protection or lotion- allows UV rays to damage several layers of skin at a time and also increases the possibility of creating free radicals that have been proven to increase the likelihood of skin cancer.

Another external factor, that many people don't consider, is smoking. Smoking can contribute to damaging the skin due to pollution and also makes the skin lose its sheen and texture. Smoking also reduces the speed of blood flow throughout the body- including the skin, not to mention your heart!

Applying moisturizer daily is a simple and important way to reduce the chances of getting deep wrinkles, especially if you start at a young age. The sooner we start to take proper care of our skin, the longer we'll enjoy healthy and youthful looking skin. It's inevitable that wrinkles will occur, but minimizing the damage and any potential skin health risks will definitely pay off in the long run!
